SEO Account Manager

What We’re Looking For

We’re on the hunt for a highly motivated person who can help drive our SEO offering; bringing in cutting edge technologies and new processes. This is a senior position within the company with a huge opportunity to potentially lead one of the fastest growing verticals of our business.

The role

As a SEO Account Manager at Big Rock, you will be responsible for overseeing a selection of our largest accounts and will have a remit to build a team of SEO Managers and Executives capable of delivering award winning campaigns. You will work alongside senior management

Key responsibilities

  • Complete ownership of client relationships, SEO strategy and campaign delivery
  • In depth understanding of the Big Rock SEO and Content Marketing products and deliverables
  • Leading and line managing team of executives including ensuring completion of timesheets, signing off holiday, illness and appraisals
  • High-level, hands-on technical SEO knowledge
  • Conducting and coordinating the delivery of all aspects of on-site SEO including keyword research, technical audits, content audits and link analysis
  • Working with copywriters and content creation team to deliver high quality SEO optimized content
  • Working closely with content and outreach team to formulate and execute effective off-site content marketing and link building strategies
  • Directly implementing, or working with web development teams to implement, on-site SEO recommendations
  • Confidently pitching and presenting SEO and Content strategies to clients
  • Leading client meetings and generating follow up actions with internal teams and external suppliers
  • Formulating and forecasting realistic organic search projections
  • Utilising web analytics and tracking platforms to analyse organic performance
  • Responsible for formulation and delivery of client reporting
  • Working alongside Senior Management to expand the retainer base revenue, working on new business opportunities and scope of works
  • Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and developments
  • Responsible for training, progression and personal development of junior members of the team
  • Managing account expenses: staying on budget, estimating monthly costs and reconciliation

 Essential skills & experience

  • Minimum of three years’ proven experience working in a fast-paced agency environment
  • Minimum of one year’s proven line-management experience
  • Confident, comfortable and professional when communicating with clients and third-parties
  • Advanced understanding of key SEO tools required to conduct keyword research, technical audits, content audits and reporting such as ScreamingFrog, SearchMetrics, Linkdex etc.
  • Working understanding of measuring and analysing organic performance using analytics platforms such as Google Analytics
  • Understanding of using Search Trends, Demographic and User-behaviour data to reinforce strategies
  • Strong Excel skills – ability to use vlookups and pivot tables
  • Ability to clearly and confidently communicate SEO concepts, SEO value and recommended actions in an easy to understand manner
  • An entrepreneurial mind-set and work-ethic
  • Solid understanding of how websites and webservers work
  • Experience with Marketing Automation platforms such as Hubspot is a definite plus
  • Solid understanding of the workings of HTML and CSS

Desirable skills & experience 

  • Experience working with B2B or financial clients
  • Understanding of JavaScript, Flash and HTML5
  • Understanding of programming languages such as PHP
